Do you think Christians can date Messianic Jews?

In my opinion, it's not necessarily negative. The term 'Christian' isn't explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but essentially refers to 'anyone who follows Christ'. Therefore, a Messianic Jew could be considered 'Christian'. Dating someone with a different religious belief may pose some challenges. For instance, a Baptist dating a Methodist may need to address and navigate certain differences - just like a Lutheran dating a Messianic Jew. However, such diversity can lead to constructive conversations if both individuals are willing to comprehend and respect the various religious practices while remaining steadfast in their core belief in Jesus as the Savior.

What are your thoughts?

I attend a nondenominational church, and knew of a married couple where the wife was Messianic Jew.

I did hear about one married couple where the wife grew up in a charismatic church, and the husband (who is a pastor) is from reformed conservative background. The wife found it a bit challenging, but she eventually came to agree with the reformed cessationist teachings.

I personally think dating someone from different denominations such as Baptist, Lutheran, and Presbyterian doesn’t bother me because I’m fine with agreeing to disagree. But dating someone who holds strong charismatic views can be challenging. I definitely cannot marry someone who claims to be progressive Christian.

Progressive Christianity does not align with my beliefs at all lol, so i agree with that. it appears to be more emotionally driven rather than fact-based. I, along with many of my friends, hold a literalist view of the Bible and defend its teachings wholeheartedly. However, progressives tend to criticize scripture, which is why I disagree with their perspective.

Well it depends on what sect, there are some with more protestant Leaning views, while others only believe he is the Messiah, and reject him as God and rejects the Trinity
Oh wow, I see, I didn’t know that.

I think it doesn’t hurt to be friends with someone who rejects Jesus as God. I also know it’s not sin to date unbelievers, though the Bible commands you should only marry someone from same faith.

I do know a few Christians who dated unbeliever, and they eventually became a believer. Or even married an unbeliever and later become a believer. But there are also plenty of examples where the unbelieving partner never converted. So I think being very wise important. And if someone chooses to date an unbeliever, I would advise to make sure they have an overall good character.

I agree, but i would never tread those waters because i know Yahweh would not like it one bit. My sins will be judged, and i have to try to keep them at a minimum.

Yeshua will save all who believe in him, but no man is righteous enough to go to heaven without him. I believe the bible points to our judgment being like a courtroom. Yahweh is the judge, the devil is the prosecutor who seeks to have us thrown in hell, and he will lay every sin of yours against you, and you will lose your "case" unless you have the help and guarantee of the best "lawyer" in the world, Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) who took the torment we deserved. A man and the son of Yahweh who lived a perfectly righteous life but died the death of a criminal.

I agree, it’s definitely not wise to date unbeliever. I personally think missionary dating will be very tiring, or at least no joy since they have a different worldview and cannot engage in heart-to-heart conversations.
