- Psalm Chapter 95
95 Come now! Let us sing together to worship the Lord !
We will shout aloud
to praise God, the strong Rock who makes us safe!
2 Let us come near to God
and thank him! [ b ]
Let us sing songs to praise him,
because we are so happy!
3 Yes, the Lord is the great God.
He is the great king who rules over all gods.
4 The deepest places of the earth are in his hand.
The highest mountains belong to him.
5 The seas are his,
because he made them.
He also made the dry land,
with his own hands.
6 Come now! Let us bend down to worship him!
Let us bend our knees in front of the Lord .
He is the one who made us.
7 He is our God.
He takes care of us,
like a shepherd takes care of his sheep. [ c ]
As his sheep, he gives us what we need.
Today, you must listen to him
and obey him.
8 He says, ‘Do not refuse to obey me,
like my people did at Meribah.
They also did that one day at Massah,
in the desert.
9 Your ancestors tested me there,
to see if I would punish them.
But they had already seen the great things
that I had done for them!
10 So I was angry with those people
all the time for 40 years.
I said, “These people love to go the wrong way.
They refuse to follow my ways.”
11 I was very angry and I promised,
“They will never come into my place of rest.” ’ [ d ]
95 Come, let us sing praise to the Lord !
Let us shout praises to the Rock who saves us.
2 Come and worship him with songs of thanks. [ a ]
Let us sing happy songs of praise to him.
3 For the Lord is a great God,
the great King ruling over all the other “gods.”
4 The deepest caves and the highest mountains belong to him.
5 The ocean is his—he created it.
He made the dry land with his own hands.
6 Come, let us bow down and worship him!
Let us kneel before the Lord who made us.
7 He is our God,
and we are the people he cares for,
his sheep that walk by his side.
Listen to his voice today:
8 “Don’t be stubborn, as you were at Meribah,
as you were at Massah [ b ] in the desert.
9 Your ancestors doubted and tested me,
even after they saw what I could do!
10 I was angry with them for 40 years.
I said, ‘They are not faithful to me.
They refuse to do what I say.’
11 So in my anger I made this vow:
‘They will never enter my land of rest.’”
95 O come, let us sing unto the Lord : let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
95 Come, let’s ( A ) sing for joy to the Lord ,
Let’s shout joyfully to ( B ) the rock of our salvation.
2 Let’s ( C ) come before His presence ( D ) with a song of thanksgiving,
Let’s shout joyfully to Him ( E ) in songs with instruments .
3 For the Lord is a ( F ) great God
And a great King ( G ) above all gods,
4 In whose hand are the ( H ) depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are also His.
5 [ a ] The sea is His, for it was He ( I ) who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let’s ( J ) worship and bow down,
Let’s ( K ) kneel before the Lord our ( L ) Maker.
7 For He is our God,
And ( M ) we are the people of His [ b ] ( N ) pasture and the sheep of His hand.
( O ) Today, [ c ] if you will hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as at [ d ] ( P ) Meribah,
As on the day of [ e ] ( Q ) Massah in the wilderness,
9 “When your fathers ( R ) put Me to the test,
They tested Me, though they had seen My work.
10 For ( S ) forty years I was disgusted with that generation,
And said they are a people who err in their heart,
And they do not know My ways.
11 Therefore I ( T ) swore in My anger,
They certainly shall not enter My ( U ) rest.”
1 Come, ( A ) let us sing for joy ( B ) to the Lord ;
let us shout aloud ( C ) to the Rock ( D ) of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him ( E ) with thanksgiving ( F )
and extol him with music ( G ) and song.
3 For the Lord is the great God, ( H )
the great King ( I ) above all gods. ( J )
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, ( K )
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. ( L )
6 Come, let us bow down ( M ) in worship, ( N )
let us kneel ( O ) before the Lord our Maker; ( P )
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture, ( Q )
the flock under his care.
Today, if only you would hear his voice,
8 “Do not harden your hearts ( R ) as you did at Meribah, [ a ] ( S )
as you did that day at Massah [ b ] in the wilderness, ( T )
9 where your ancestors tested ( U ) me;
they tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 For forty years ( V ) I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, ( W )
and they have not known my ways.’ ( X )
11 So I declared on oath ( Y ) in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’” ( Z )
