- Psalm Chapter 84
84 Lord Almighty,
the temple where you live is beautiful!
2 I want very much to go to the Lord 's temple.
I very much want to be in the temple yards.
With all that I am, and with great joy,
I sing to you, the God who lives for ever!
3 In your temple,
even sparrows [ a ] have their homes.
Swallows builds their nests there,
to take care of their babies.
They can be near to your altars,
Lord Almighty, my king and my God.
4 You have truly blessed those people
who live in your temple.
They can praise you all the time!
Selah.
5 You have blessed those people
who come to you to make them strong.
They love to travel to your temple in Zion.
6 As they go through the dry Baka valley,
springs of water appear there!
The autumn rain covers the valley with pools.
7 The people become stronger as they travel,
until each one meets with God in Zion. [ b ]
8 Lord God Almighty,
please listen to my prayer!
God of Jacob, hear me!
Selah.
9 God, look at our king,
the one who protects us like a shield!
Take care of the king that you have chosen.
10 I would rather be near your temple for one day
than have a thousand days anywhere else.
I would rather stand near the door of God's temple
than live among wicked people.
11 The Lord God is like a sun
and a shield for his people.
He is kind to his people
and he gives glory to them.
To those who do what is right,
he gives every good thing that they need.
12 Lord Almighty,
you have truly blessed everyone who trusts in you!
84 Lord All-Powerful, the place where you live is so beautiful!
2 Lord , I cannot wait to enter your Temple.
I am so excited!
Every part of me cries out to be with the Living God.
3 Lord All-Powerful, my King, my God,
even the birds have found a home in your Temple.
They make their nests near your altar,
and there they have their babies.
4 Great blessings belong to those who live at your Temple!
They continue to praise you. Selah
5 Great blessings belong to those who depend on you for strength!
Their heart’s desire is to make the trip to your Temple.
6 They travel through Baca Valley,
which God has made into a place of springs.
Autumn rains form pools of water there.
7 The people travel from town to town [ a ]
on their way to Zion, where they will meet with God.
8 Lord God All-Powerful, listen to my prayer.
God of Jacob, listen to me. Selah
9 God, watch over the king, our protector. [ b ]
Be kind to him, the one you have chosen.
10 One day in your Temple is better
than a thousand days anywhere else.
Serving as a guard at the gate of my God’s house is better
than living in the homes of the wicked.
11 The Lord God is our protector and glorious king. [ c ]
He blesses us with kindness and honor.
The Lord freely gives every good thing
to those who do what is right.
12 Lord All-Powerful,
great blessings belong to those who trust in you!
84 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord : my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
84 How lovely are Your ( A ) dwelling places,
Lord of armies!
2 My ( B ) soul longed and even yearned for the courtyards of the Lord ;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the ( C ) living God.
3 The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may put her young:
Your ( D ) altars, Lord of armies,
( E ) My King and my God.
4 ( F ) Blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are ( G ) ever praising You. Selah
5 Blessed is the person whose ( H ) strength is in You,
In [ b ] whose heart are the ( I ) roads to Zion !
6 Passing through the Valley of [ c ] Baca they make it a [ d ] spring;
The ( J ) early rain also covers it with blessings.
7 They ( K ) go from strength to strength,
[ e ] Every one of them ( L ) appears before God in Zion.
8 ( M ) Lord God of armies, hear my prayer;
Listen, ( N ) God of Jacob! Selah
9 See our ( O ) shield, God,
And look at the face of ( P ) Your anointed.
10 For ( Q ) a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere .
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than live in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is ( R ) a sun and ( S ) shield;
The Lord gives grace and ( T ) glory;
( U ) He withholds no good thing [ f ] from those who walk with integrity.
12 Lord of armies,
( V ) Blessed is the person who trusts in You!
1 How lovely is your dwelling place, ( A )
Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, ( B ) even faints,
for the courts of the Lord ;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God. ( C )
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar, ( D )
Lord Almighty, ( E ) my King ( F ) and my God. ( G )
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you. [ c ]
5 Blessed are those whose strength ( H ) is in you,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. ( I )
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
they make it a place of springs; ( J )
the autumn ( K ) rains also cover it with pools. [ d ]
7 They go from strength to strength, ( L )
till each appears ( M ) before God in Zion. ( N )
8 Hear my prayer, ( O ) Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, God of Jacob.
9 Look on our shield, [ e ] ( P ) O God;
look with favor on your anointed one. ( Q )
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper ( R ) in the house of my God

the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold ( U )
from those whose walk is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
blessed ( V ) is the one who trusts in you.
