66 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

² Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.

³ Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

⁴ All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

⁵ Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.

⁶ He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.

⁷ He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

⁸ O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

⁹ Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

¹¹ Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

¹² Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

¹³ I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,

¹⁴ Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

¹⁵ I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

¹⁶ Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

¹⁷ I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.

¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

¹⁹ But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

²⁰ Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

66 Everything on earth, shout with joy to God!
² Praise his glorious name!
Honor him with songs of praise!
³ Tell God, “Your works are wonderful!
Your great power makes your enemies bow down in fear before you.
⁴ Let the whole world worship you.
Let everyone sing praises to your name.” Selah

⁵ Look at what God has done!
These things amaze us.
⁶ He changed the sea to dry land, ^{[ a ]}
and his people went across the water ^{[ b ]} on foot.
So let’s celebrate because of what he has done!
⁷ He rules the world with his great power.
He watches people everywhere.
No one can rebel against him. Selah

⁸ People, praise our God.
Sing loud songs of praise to him.
⁹ He continues to give us life,
and he keeps us from falling.
¹⁰ God, you have tested us, as people test silver with fire.
¹¹ You let us be trapped.
You put heavy burdens on us.
¹² You let our enemies run over us.
We went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a safe place.
^13-14 So I bring sacrifices to your Temple.
When I was in trouble, I asked for help
and made promises to you.
Now I am giving you what I promised.
¹⁵ I bring my best sheep as burnt offerings.
I offer the smoke from them up to you.
I give you sacrifices of bulls and goats. Selah

¹⁶ All you people who worship God,
come and I will tell you what he has done for me.
^17-18 I cried out to him for help,
and I praised him.
If I had been hiding sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened to me.
¹⁹ But God did listen to me;
he heard my prayer.
²⁰ Praise God!
He did not turn away from me—he listened to my prayer.
He continues to show his love to me!

Psalm 66:6 changed the sea to dry land This was with Moses at the Red Sea. See Ex. 14.
Psalm 66:6 water Literally, “river.” Although this word is not used for the Jordan River elsewhere, some think this line may refer to the later crossing there. See Josh. 3:14-17.

Offer glory and praise!
³ Tell God, “How awesome are your deeds!
Through the greatness of your power, your enemies submit themselves to you.
⁴ All the earth will worship you,
and will sing to you;
they will sing to your name.” Selah.
⁵ Come, and see God’s deeds—
awesome work on behalf of the children of men.
⁶ He turned the sea into dry land.
They went through the river on foot.
There, we rejoiced in him.
⁷ He rules by his might forever.
His eyes watch the nations.
Don’t let the rebellious rise up against him. Selah.
⁸ Praise our God, you peoples!
Make the sound of his praise heard,
⁹ who preserves our life among the living,
and doesn’t allow our feet to be moved.
¹⁰ For you, God, have tested us.
You have refined us, as silver is refined.
¹¹ You brought us into prison.
You laid a burden on our backs.
¹² You allowed men to ride over our heads.
We went through fire and through water,
but you brought us to the place of abundance.
¹³ I will come into your temple with burnt offerings.
I will pay my vows to you, ¹⁴ which my lips promised,
and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress.
¹⁵ I will offer to you burnt offerings of fat animals,
with the offering of rams,
I will offer bulls with goats. Selah.
¹⁶ Come and hear, all you who fear God.
I will declare what he has done for my soul.
¹⁷ I cried to him with my mouth.
He was extolled with my tongue.
¹⁸ If I cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord wouldn’t have listened.
¹⁹ But most certainly, God has listened.
He has heard the voice of my prayer.
²⁰ Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer,
nor his loving kindness from me.

66 To the Overseer. -- A Song, a Psalm. Shout ye to God, all the earth.

² Praise ye the honour of His name, Make ye honourable His praise.

³ Say to God, `How fearful [are] Thy works, By the abundance of Thy strength, Thine enemies feign obedience to Thee.

⁴ All the earth do bow to Thee, They sing praise to Thee, they praise Thy name.' Selah.

⁵ Come ye, and see the works of God, Fearful acts toward the sons of men.

⁶ He hath turned a sea to dry land, Through a river they pass over on foot, There do we rejoice in Him.

⁷ Ruling by His might to the age, His eyes among the nations do watch, The refractory exalt not themselves. Selah.

⁸ Bless, ye peoples, our God, And sound the voice of His praise,

⁹ Who hath placed our soul in life, And suffered not our feet to be moved.

¹⁰ For Thou hast tried us, O God, Thou hast refined us as the refining of silver.

¹¹ Thou hast brought us into a net, Thou hast placed pressure on our loins.

¹² Thou hast caused man to ride at our head. We have entered into fire and into water, And Thou bringest us out to a watered place.

¹³ I enter Thy house with burnt-offerings, I complete to Thee my vows,

¹⁴ For opened were my lips, And my mouth spake in my distress:

¹⁵ `Burnt-offerings of fatlings I offer to Thee, With perfume of rams, I prepare a bullock with he-goats.' Selah.

¹⁶ Come, hear, all ye who fear God, And I recount what he did for my soul.

¹⁷ Unto Him [with] my mouth I have called, And exaltation [is] under my tongue.

¹⁸ Iniquity, if I have seen in my heart, The Lord doth not hear.

¹⁹ But God hath heard, He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

²⁰ Blessed [is] God, Who hath not turned aside my prayer, And His loving-kindness, from me!
