BibleStudyIt Psalm 61
- Psalm Chapter 61
61 God, please hear me when I call to you for help.
Listen carefully to my prayer.
2 I will call out to you from far away,
because I am sad and weak.
Lead me to a strong, safe rock
that is higher than I am.
3 You are the safe place where I can hide.
You are like a strong tower
that keeps me safe against my enemies. [ b ]
4 I want to live in your house for ever.
I want you to keep me safe,
like birds protect their babies under their wings.
Selah.
5 You, God, have heard my promises to you.
You have blessed me,
as you bless all those people who serve you.
6 Please give the king a long life.
Let him live to see many descendants.
7 Let him rule for ever
with your authority.
Cause your faithful love and your truth to keep him safe. [ c ]
8 Then I will always praise your name.
Every day I will give to you
the offerings that I have promised.
61 God, hear my cry for help.
Listen to my prayer.
2 From a faraway land I call to you for help.
I feel so weak and helpless!
Carry me to a high rock
where no one can reach me.
3 You are my place of safety,
a strong tower that protects me from my enemies.
4 I want to live in your tent [ a ] forever.
I want to hide where you can protect me. Selah
5 God, you heard what I promised to give you,
but everything your worshipers have comes from you.
6 Give the king a long life.
Let him live forever!
7 Let him rule in your presence forever.
Protect him with your faithful love.
8 Then I will praise your name forever.
Every day I will do what I promised.
61 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
6 Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations.
7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
61 ( A ) Hear my cry, God;
( B ) Give Your attention to my prayer.
2 From the ( C ) end of the earth I call to You when my heart is ( D ) faint;

5 For You have heard my ( J ) vows, God;

6 You will [ b ] ( L ) prolong the king’s [ c ] life;
His years will be like generations.
7 He will [ d ] sit enthroned ( M ) before God forever;
Appoint ( N ) faithfulness and truth that they may watch over him.
8 So I will ( O ) sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may ( P ) pay my vows day by day.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint; ( C )
lead me to the rock ( D ) that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge, ( E )
a strong tower against the foe. ( F )
4 I long to dwell ( G ) in your tent forever
