The 5th Hallelujah Psalm [ a ]

150 Hallelujah! Praise the Lord !
Praise God in his temple.
Praise him high in the sky,
where he shows his great strength.
2 Praise God for the great things that he has done.
Praise him because he is great and powerful.
3 Praise him with music!
Yes! Use trumpets, harps and lyres
to praise God! [ b ]
4 Dance and hit drums to praise him!
Make music with harps and flutes
to praise him!
5 Make music with big cymbals and small cymbals
to praise him!
6 Everything that is alive should praise the Lord .
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord !

  1. 150:1 This is a special psalm to finish the Book of Psalms.
  2. 150:3 The Israelites had musical instruments that are different from the ones that we use today. We do not always have the right names for them in English.

150 Praise the Lord !
Praise God in his Temple!
Praise him in heaven, his strong fortress!
2 Praise him for the great things he does!
Praise him for all his greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpets and horns!
Praise him with harps and lyres!
4 Praise him with tambourines and dancing!
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise him with loud cymbals!
Praise him with crashing cymbals!

6 Everything that breathes, praise the Lord !

Praise the Lord !

150 Praise ye the Lord . Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord . Praise ye the Lord .

A Psalm of Praise.

150 [ a ] Praise [ b ] the Lord !
Praise God in His ( A ) sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty [ c ] ( B ) expanse.
2 Praise Him for His ( C ) mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent ( D ) greatness.

3 Praise Him with ( E ) trumpet sound;
Praise Him with ( F ) harp and lyre.
4 Praise Him with ( G ) tambourine and dancing;
Praise Him with ( H ) stringed instruments and ( I ) flute.
5 Praise Him with loud ( J ) cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 ( K ) Everything that has breath shall praise [ d ] the Lord .
[ e ] Praise [ f ] the Lord !

Praise God in his sanctuary; ( B )
praise him in his mighty heavens. ( C )
2 Praise him for his acts of power; ( D )
praise him for his surpassing greatness. ( E )
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, ( F )
praise him with the harp and lyre, ( G )
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, ( H )
praise him with the strings ( I ) and pipe, ( J )
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, ( K )
praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything ( L ) that has breath praise the Lord .
