A song to sing as we climb.

I have great trouble

130 Lord , I am crying aloud to you
because I have great trouble.
2 My Lord, please listen to me!
I am asking you to be kind and help me.
3 Lord , if you should write down all our sins,
nobody could stand as a righteous person.
4 But you forgive people for their sins,
and so we give you honour.

5 I will wait for the Lord to help me.
I trust him completely.
So I wait for him to do what he has promised.
6 I want my Lord to come and help me,
more than a guard at night wants the morning to come.
Yes, I want my Lord to come quickly, even more than that.
7 Israel's people, trust the Lord to help you.
The Lord has faithful love for his people.
He is always ready to save them.
8 He will save Israel's people from all their sins.

A song for going up to the Temple.

130 Lord , I am in deep trouble,
so I am calling to you for help.
2 My Lord, listen to me.
Listen to my cry for help.
3 Lord , if you punished people for all their sins,
no one would be left alive.
4 But you forgive people,
so they fear and respect you.

5 I am waiting for the Lord to help me.
My soul waits for him.
I trust what he says.
6 I am waiting for my Lord,
like a guard waiting and waiting for the morning to come.
7 Israel, trust in the Lord .
The Lord is the one who is faithful and true.
He saves us again and again,
8 and he is the one who will save the people of Israel from all their sins.

130 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord .

2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3 If thou, Lord , shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

5 I wait for the Lord , my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

7 Let Israel hope in the Lord : for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Hope in the Lord s Forgiving Love.

A Song of Ascents.

130 Out of the ( A ) depths I have cried to You, Lord .
2 Lord, ( B ) hear my voice!
Let ( C ) Your ears be attentive
To the ( D ) sound of my pleadings.
3 If You, [ a ] Lord , were to keep account of guilty deeds,
Lord, who could ( E ) stand?
4 But there is ( F ) forgiveness with You,
So that You may be [ b ] ( G ) revered.

5 I wait for the Lord , my ( H ) soul waits,
And I [ c ] wait ( I ) for His word.
6 My soul waits in hope for the Lord
More than the watchmen ( J ) for the morning;
Yes, more than the watchmen for the morning.
7 Israel, ( K ) wait for the Lord ;
For with the Lord there is ( L ) mercy,
And with Him is ( M ) abundant redemption.
8 And He will ( N ) redeem Israel
From all his guilty deeds.
