- Psalm Chapter 110
110 The Lord God said to my Lord, [ b ]
‘Sit at my right side [ c ] until I win against your enemies.
Then you will be able to put your feet on them.’
2 The Lord will give you great authority,
as you rule from Zion. [ d ]
You will rule over all your enemies
that are round you.
3 When you go to fight your enemies,
your people will be happy to fight beside you.
As the sun rises on the day of battle,
your young men will be there,
on the hills round Zion. [ e ]
4 The Lord has made a strong promise.
He will not change it.
He has promised, ‘You will be a priest for ever,
in the same way that Melchizedek was my priest.’ [ f ]
5 The Lord is standing at your right side.
When he becomes angry,
he will knock down kings!
6 He will punish the nations,
so that dead bodies cover the ground.
He will destroy kings everywhere on the earth.
7 He will drink from a stream at the side of the road.
With new strength, he will lift up his head.
110 The Lord said to my lord, [ a ]
“Sit at my right side, while I put your enemies under your control.”
2 The Lord will cause your kingdom to grow, beginning at Zion,
until you rule the lands of your enemies!
3 Your people will gladly join you
when you gather your army together.
You will wear your special clothes
and meet together early in the morning.
Your young men will be all around you
like dew on the ground. [ b ]
4 The Lord has made a promise with an oath
and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever—
the kind of priest Melchizedek was.”
5 My Lord is at your right side.
He will defeat the other kings when he becomes angry.
6 He will judge the nations.
The ground will be covered with dead bodies.
He will punish the leaders of powerful nations all around the world.
7 The king will drink from a stream on the way.
Then he will lift his head and become strong! [ c ]
110 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
110 ( A ) The Lord says to my Lord:
“ ( B ) Sit at My right hand
Until I make ( C ) Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
2 The Lord will stretch out Your strong ( D ) scepter from Zion, saying ,

3 Your ( F ) people [ a ] will volunteer freely on the day of Your [ b ] power;
( G ) In [ c ] holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn,
[ d ] Your youth are to You as the ( H ) dew.
4 ( I ) The Lord has sworn and will ( J ) not [ e ] change His mind,
“You are a ( K ) priest forever

5 The Lord is ( L ) at Your right hand;
He [ f ] will ( M ) shatter kings in the ( N ) day of His wrath.
6 He will ( O ) judge among the nations,
He [ g ] will fill them with ( P ) corpses,
He [ h ] will ( Q ) shatter the [ i ] chief men over a broad country.
7 He will ( R ) drink from the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He will ( S ) lift up His head.
2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter ( D ) from Zion, ( E ) saying,
“Rule ( F ) in the midst of your enemies!”
3 Your troops will be willing
on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor, ( G )
your young men will come to you
like dew from the morning’s womb. [ b ] ( H )
4 The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind: ( I )
“You are a priest forever, ( J )
in the order of Melchizedek. ( K ) ”
5 The Lord is at your right hand [ c ] ; ( L )
he will crush kings ( M ) on the day of his wrath. ( N )
6 He will judge the nations, ( O ) heaping up the dead ( P )
and crushing the rulers ( Q ) of the whole earth.
7 He will drink from a brook along the way, [ d ]
and so he will lift his head high. ( R )
