- Numbers Chapter 28
28 The Lord said to Moses, 2 ‘Tell the Israelites that they must give their gifts to God at the proper time. The smell of the gifts when they burn will make him happy. 3 You must say to them, “This is the offering by fire that you must offer to the Lord : It must be two male lambs that are one year old. They must not have anything wrong with them. That is the burnt offering for every day. 4 You must give one lamb in the morning and one lamb in the evening. 5 With the lambs, you must also offer to God one kilogram of flour that you have mixed with one litre of good olive oil. 6 It is a regular burnt offering that God told you about. He told you about it on Sinai mountain. It is an offering by fire to the Lord . The smell as it burns makes the Lord happy. 7 Then the drink offering with it will be one litre of wine for each lamb. In God's Holy Tent, you must pour out a drink offering of the best wine to the Lord . 8 You must offer the other lamb when it begins to get dark. Offer it with a grain offering and a drink offering like the offerings in the morning. You must give it as an offering by fire. The smell of the smoke from these sacrifices will make the Lord happy.
9 Then on the Sabbath day, you must offer two male lambs that are one year old. They must not have anything wrong with them. And you must offer 2 kilograms of good flour. Mix that with oil as a grain offering. And you must give the proper drink offering with it. 10 This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath. But you must also give the regular burnt offering with its proper drink offering.
11 Also, on the first day of every month, you must give a burnt offering to the Lord . It must be two young bulls, one male sheep and seven male lambs. The lambs must be one year old and they must not have anything wrong with them. 12 With each bull and with the male sheep, you must give a grain offering. Mix together 3 kilograms of the best flour with olive oil. Offer it to me with each bull. Mix together 2 kilograms of the best flour with olive oil. Offer it to me with the male sheep. 13 And with each lamb you must give a grain offering. Mix together 1 kilogram of the best flour with olive oil. Offer it to me with each male lamb as a burnt offering to the Lord . The smell of the smoke from these sacrifices will make the Lord happy. 14 And there must be drink offerings with these sacrifices. The offering must be 2 litres of wine for a bull. It must be 1.5 litres for the male sheep and 1 litre for a lamb. That is the burnt offering of each month for every month of the year. 15 Also, you must offer one male goat as a sin offering to the Lord . You must offer it with the proper drink offering. But you must still offer the regular burnt offering.
16 On the 14th day of the first month, you must eat the Lord 's Passover meal. 17 Day 15 is the start of a week when you must eat the flat bread. You must not put any yeast in the bread. You must do that for seven days. 18 The first day will be a holy day and all the people must meet together. You must not work at your jobs on that day. 19 And you must give an offering by fire, a burnt offering to the Lord . The offering must be two young bulls, one male sheep and seven male lambs that are one year old. But these animals must not have anything wrong with them. 20 Offer the proper grain offering with each animal. Mix together 3 kilograms of the best flour and olive oil. Offer it to me with each bull. With the male sheep, offer 2 kilograms of the best flour with oil. 21 With each of the seven lambs, you must offer one kilogram of flour that you have mixed with oil. 22 You must also give one male goat as a sin offering. That is to make things right with God for you. 23 But you must still give the regular burnt offering in the morning. 24 You must offer those gifts every day for seven days. They are the food of an offering by fire. The smell of them as they burn will make the Lord happy. But you must still give the regular burnt offering with the proper drink offering. 25 And the seventh day must be a holy day and all the people must meet together. You must not work at your jobs on that day.
26 The day when you offer to the Lord the first part of the harvest must also be a holy day. That is also the day when you give to the Lord an offering of new grain. That is the Festival of Weeks. All the people must meet together. You must not work at your jobs on that day. 27 And you must give a burnt offering to the Lord . The offering must be two young bulls, one male sheep and seven male lambs that are one year old. The smell of the smoke from these sacrifices will make the Lord happy. 28 Mix together 3 kilograms of the best flour and olive oil. Offer that with each bull. With the male sheep, offer 2 kilograms of flour with oil. 29 With each of the seven lambs, you must offer one kilogram of flour that you have mixed with oil. 30 You must also offer one male goat to remove your sins. 31 You must still give the regular burnt offering with the proper grain offering. You must give them with the proper drink offerings. The animals must not have anything wrong with them.
28 Then the Lord spoke to Moses. He said, 2 “Give this command to the Israelites. Tell them to be sure to give the grain offerings and sacrifices to me at the right time as sweet-smelling gifts. 3 These are gifts that they must give to the Lord . Every day they must give 2 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 4 Offer one of the lambs in the morning and the other lamb just before dark. 5 Also give a grain offering of 8 cups [ a ] of fine flour mixed with 1 quart [ b ] of olive oil.” 6 (They started giving the daily offerings at Mount Sinai as sweet-smelling gifts to the Lord .) 7 “The people must also give the drink offerings that go with the gifts. They must give 1 quart of wine with every lamb. Pour that drink offering on the altar in the Holy Place. This is a gift to the Lord . 8 Offer the second lamb just before dark. Offer it just as the morning offering. Also give the drink offering that goes with it. This will be a sweet-smelling gift to the Lord .
9 “On the Sabbath you must give 2 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. You must also give a grain offering of 16 cups [ c ] of fine flour mixed with olive oil, and a drink offering. 10 This is a special offering for the day of rest. This offering is in addition to the regular daily offering and drink offering.
11 “On the first day of each month you will offer a special burnt offering to the Lord . This offering will be 2 male bulls, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 12 With each bull, you must give a grain offering of 24 cups [ d ] of fine flour mixed with olive oil. And with the ram, you must give a grain offering of 16 cups of fine flour mixed with olive oil. 13 Also give a grain offering of 8 cups of fine flour mixed with olive oil with each lamb. This will be a sweet-smelling gift to the Lord . 14 The drink offering will be 2 quarts [ e ] of wine with each bull, 1 1/4 quarts [ f ] of wine with the ram, and 1 quart of wine with each lamb. That is the burnt offering that must be offered each month of the year. 15 In addition to the regular daily burnt offering and drink offering, you must also give 1 male goat to the Lord . That goat will be a sin offering.
16 “The Lord ’s Passover will be on the 14th day of the first month. 17 The Festival of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th day of that month. This festival lasts for seven days. The only bread you can eat is bread made without yeast. 18 You must have a special meeting on the first day of this festival. You will not do any work on that day. 19 You will give burnt offerings to the Lord . The burnt offerings will be 2 bulls, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 20-21 You must also give a grain offering of 24 cups of fine flour mixed with olive oil with each bull, and 16 cups of fine flour mixed with oil with the ram, and 8 cups of fine flour mixed with oil for each lamb. 22 You must also give a male goat as a sin offering to make you pure. 23 You must give these offerings in addition to the morning burnt offerings that you give every day.
24 “In this way, each day for seven days, you must bring the food that is offered by fire. The smell of these offerings will please the Lord . You must give these offerings in addition to the daily burnt offering and the drink offering that goes with it.
25 “Then, on the seventh day of this festival, you will have another special meeting. You will not do any work on that day.
26 “The first day of the Festival of Harvest is the day you bring the first of your new crops and give them as a grain offering to the Lord . At that time you must also call a special meeting. You must not do any work on that day. 27 You must offer a burnt offering as a sweet-smelling gift to the Lord . You must offer 2 bulls, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 28 You must also give 24 cups of fine flour mixed with oil with each bull, and 16 cups with each ram, 29 and 8 cups with each lamb. 30 You must also sacrifice a male goat to make you pure. 31 You must give these offerings in addition to the daily burnt offerings and the grain offering you give with them. Be sure there is nothing wrong with the animals or the drink offerings that you give with them.
28 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.
3 And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the Lord ; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.
4 The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;
5 And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil.
6 It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord .
7 And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the Lord for a drink offering.
8 And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord .
9 And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof:
10 This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.
11 And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord ; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;
12 And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram;
13 And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord .
14 And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.
15 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the Lord shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.
16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the Lord .
17 And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.
18 In the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work therein:
19 But ye shall offer a sacrifice made by fire for a burnt offering unto the Lord ; two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year: they shall be unto you without blemish:
20 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil: three tenth deals shall ye offer for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram;
21 A several tenth deal shalt thou offer for every lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
22 And one goat for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you.
23 Ye shall offer these beside the burnt offering in the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.
24 After this manner ye shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord : it shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.
25 And on the seventh day ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.
26 Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the Lord , after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:
27 But ye shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord ; two young bullocks, one ram, seven lambs of the first year;
28 And their meat offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto one bullock, two tenth deals unto one ram,
29 A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs;
30 And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.
31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.
28 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘You shall be careful to present to Me My offering, My ( A ) food for My offerings by fire, of a soothing aroma to Me, at their appointed time.’ 3 ( B ) And you shall say to them, ‘This is the offering by fire which you shall offer to the Lord : two male lambs one year old without defect as a continual burnt offering every day. 4 You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer [ a ] at twilight; 5 also ( C ) a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a ( D ) grain offering, mixed with a fourth of a [ b ] hin of pure oil. 6 It is a continual burnt offering which was ordained on Mount Sinai as a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord . 7 Then the drink offering with it shall be a fourth of a hin for each lamb; ( E ) in the Holy Place pour out a drink offering of strong drink to the Lord . 8 The other lamb you shall offer [ c ] at twilight; as the grain offering of the morning and as its drink offering, you shall offer it, an offering by fire, a soothing aroma to the Lord .
9 ‘Then on the Sabbath day two male lambs one year old without defect, and two-tenths of an [ d ] ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and its drink offering: 10 This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath in addition to the ( F ) continual burnt offering and its drink offering.
11 ‘Then ( G ) at the beginning of each of your months you shall present a burnt offering to the Lord : two [ e ] bulls and one ram, seven male lambs one year old without defect; 12 ( H ) and three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, for each bull; and two-tenths of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, for the one ram; 13 and a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering for each lamb, as a burnt offering of a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord . 14 Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull and a third of a hin for the ram and a fourth of a hin for a lamb; this is the burnt offering of each month throughout the months of the year. 15 And one male goat as a sin offering to the Lord ; it shall be offered with its drink offering in addition to the ( I ) continual burnt offering.
16 ‘ ( J ) The Lord ’ s Passover shall be on the fourteenth day of the first month. 17 ( K ) On the fifteenth day of this month there shall be a ( L ) feast; unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days. 18 On the ( M ) first day there shall be a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work. 19 But you shall present an offering by fire, a burnt offering to the Lord : two [ f ] bulls and one ram, and seven male lambs one year old, that you have ( N ) without defect. 20 For their grain offering, you shall offer fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah for a bull, and two-tenths for the ram. 21 A tenth of an ephah you shall offer for [ g ] each of the seven lambs; 22 and one male goat as a ( O ) sin offering to make atonement for you. 23 You shall present these besides ( P ) the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering. 24 In this way you shall present daily, for seven days, ( Q ) the food of the offering by fire, of a soothing aroma to the Lord ; it shall be presented with its drink offering in addition to the ( R ) continual burnt offering. 25 On the seventh day you shall have a holy assembly; ( S ) you shall do no laborious work.
26 ‘Also on ( T ) the day of the first fruits, when you present a new grain offering to the Lord in your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy assembly; ( U ) you shall do no laborious work. 27 But you shall offer a burnt offering as a soothing aroma to the Lord : two bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs one year old; 28 and as their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah for each bull, two-tenths for the one ram, 29 and a tenth for [ h ] each of the seven lambs; 30 also one male goat to make atonement for you. 31 ( V ) Besides the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, you shall present them with their drink offerings. They shall be without [ i ] defect.
28 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Give this command to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Make sure that you present to me at the appointed time ( A ) my food ( B ) offerings, as an aroma pleasing to me.’ ( C ) 3 Say to them: ‘This is the food offering you are to present to the Lord : two lambs a year old without defect, ( D ) as a regular burnt offering each day. ( E ) 4 Offer one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight, ( F ) 5 together with a grain offering ( G ) of a tenth of an ephah [ a ] of the finest flour ( H ) mixed with a quarter of a hin [ b ] of oil ( I ) from pressed olives. 6 This is the regular burnt offering ( J ) instituted at Mount Sinai ( K ) as a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord . [ g ] ( AN )
16 “‘On the fourteenth day of the first month the Lord ’s Passover ( AP ) is to be held. 17 On the fifteenth day of this month there is to be a festival; for seven days ( AQ ) eat bread made without yeast.
