- Joshua Chapter 19
19 The second part of the land was for Simeon's tribe, clan by clan. Their land was in the middle of Judah's land. 2 It included these towns:
Beersheba (also called Sheba), Moladah, 3 Hazar-Shual, Balah, Ezem, 4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, 5 Ziklag, Beth Marcaboth, Hazar-Susah, 6 Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen.
There were 13 towns and their villages.
7 He also gave them Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan.
There were four towns and their villages. 8 This included all the villages near them as far as Baalath Beer (also called Ramah, in the Negev).
That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Simeon's tribe. 9 Because Judah had received more land than they needed, Joshua took some of their land for Simeon. So Simeon's tribe lived inside the land that Joshua had given to Judah. [ a ]
10 The next part of the land was for Zebulun's tribe, clan by clan. The border of their land went as far as Sarid. 11 Then it went west to Maralah, it touched Dabbesheth, and it went to the valley near Jokneam. 12 From Sarid their border went east to the land of Kisloth Tabor. Then it went to Daberath and it continued up to Japhia. 13 From there, it went east to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin. It went on to Rimmon, and turned to go to Neah. 14 The border went north to Hannathon and stopped at the valley of Iphtah El. 15 Their land included these towns: Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem.
There were 12 towns and their villages.
16 That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Zebulun's tribe, as well as the towns and their villages.
17 The next part of the land was for Issachar's tribe, clan by clan. 18 Their land included Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem, 19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, 20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, 21 Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez. 22 The border of their land touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh. It ended at the Jordan River.
There were 16 towns and their villages.
23 That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Issachar's tribe, as well as the towns and their villages.
24 The next part of the land was for Asher's tribe, clan by clan. 25 Their land included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph, 26 Allammelech, Amad and Mishal. The west border of their land touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath. 27 Then it went east towards Beth Dagon, to touch Zebulun and the valley of Iphtah El. Then their border went north to Beth Emek and Neiel. It continued to Cabul in the north. 28 It went to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Great Sidon. 29 Then the border turned towards Ramah, and it went as far as the strong city of Tyre. Then it turned to Hosah and it ended at the Mediterranean Sea. Their towns included Hebel, Aczib, 30 Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. They received 22 towns and their villages.
31 That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Asher's tribe, as well as the towns and their villages.
32 The sixth part of the land was for Naphtali's tribe, clan by clan.
33 The border of their land went from Heleph and the big oak tree in Zaanannim. It went to Adami Nekeb and Jabneel, and it continued to Lakkum. It ended at the Jordan River. 34 The border turned west to Aznoth Tabor and it continued to Hukkok. It touched Zebulun's land on its south side, Asher's land on its west side and the Jordan River on its east side. 35 Their land included these strong cities: Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath and Kinnereth, 36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, 38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. They received 19 towns and their villages.
39 That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Naphtali's tribe, as well as the towns and their villages.
40 The seventh part of the land was for Dan's tribe, clan by clan. 41 Their land included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron, 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath-Rimmon, 46 Me Jarkon and Rakkon. They also received land in front of Joppa.
47 (But later, the people of Dan failed to take their land and keep it. So they went to attack Leshem. They took the town and they killed its people. Then they lived there themselves. They called the city Dan, after their ancestor.)
48 That was the land that Joshua gave to the families of Dan's tribe, as well as the towns and their villages.
49 When all the tribes had received their part of the land, the Israelites gave to Joshua, son of Nun, some land for himself. 50 This is what the Lord had told them to do. Joshua asked to have Timnah Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. So they gave it to him. He built up the town and he lived in it.
51 That is the list of all the pieces of land that each tribe received. Eleazar the priest, Joshua, son of Nun, and the Israelite leaders used lots to decide which part of the land was for each tribe. They did this in Shiloh, in front of the Tent of Meeting. The Lord was there with them. In that way, they finished giving each tribe a part of the land.
19 Then Joshua gave all the families in the tribe of Simeon their share of the land. The land they got was inside the area that belonged to Judah. 2 This is the land that was given to that tribe: Beersheba (also called Sheba), Moladah, 3 Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem, 4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, 5 Ziklag, Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susah, 6 Beth Lebaoth, and Sharuhen. There were 13 towns and all the fields around them.
7 They also got the towns of Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan. There were four towns and all the fields around them. 8 They also got all the fields around the cities as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). So this was the area that was given to the tribe of Simeon. Each family got its land. 9 Simeon’s share of land was within the area that Judah got. The people of Judah had more land than they needed, so the people of Simeon got part of their land.
10 The next tribe to get their land was Zebulun. Each family in Zebulun got the land that was promised to them. The border of Zebulun went as far as Sarid. 11 Then the border went west to Maralah and just touched Dabbesheth. Then it went along the ravine near Jokneam. 12 Then the border turned to the east. It went from Sarid to Kisloth Tabor. Then it went on to Daberath and to Japhia. 13 Then the border continued to the east to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin. It ended at Rimmon. Then it turned and went to Neah. 14 At Neah the border turned again, went north to Hannathon, and then continued to the Valley of Iphtah El. 15 Inside this border were the cities of Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. In all, there were twelve towns and all the fields around them.
16 So these are the towns and fields around them that were given to Zebulun. Each family in Zebulun got its part of the land.
17 The fourth part of the land was given to the tribe of Issachar. Each family in that tribe got its part of the land. 18 This is the land that was given to that tribe: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem, 19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, 20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, 21 Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah, and Beth Pazzez.
22 The border of their land touched Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth Shemesh. It ended at the Jordan River. In all, there were 16 towns and the fields around them. 23 These cities and towns were part of the land that was given to the tribe of Issachar. Each family got its part of the land.
24 The fifth part of land was given to the tribe of Asher. Each family in that tribe got its part of the land. 25 This is the land that was given to that tribe: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph, 26 Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal.
The western border continued to Mount Carmel and Shihor Libnath. 27 Then the border turned to the east. It went to Beth Dagon. The border touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El. Then it went north of Beth Emek and Neiel. It passed north of Cabul. 28 Then the border went to Abdon, [ a ] Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah. It continued to the Greater Sidon area. 29 Then the border went back south to Ramah. It continued to the strong city of Tyre. Then the border turned and went to Hosah. It ended at the sea, near Aczib, 30 Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob.
In all there were 22 towns and the fields around them. 31 These cities and the fields around them were given to the tribe of Asher. Each family in that tribe got its share of the land.
32 The sixth part of land was given to the tribe of Naphtali. Each family in that tribe got its share of the land. 33 The border of their land started at the large tree near Zaanannim. This is near Heleph. Then the border went through Adami Nekeb and Jabneel. It continued to Lakkum and ended at the Jordan River. 34 Then the border went to the west through Aznoth Tabor. It ended at Hukkok. The southern border touched Zebulun and the western border touched Asher. The border went to Judah, at the Jordan River to the east. 35 There were some very strong cities inside these borders. They were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth, 36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, 38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath, and Beth Shemesh. In all, there were 19 towns and all the fields around them.
39 These cities and the fields around them were given to the tribe of Naphtali. Each family in that tribe got its land.
40 Then land was given to the tribe of Dan. Each family in that tribe got its land. 41 This is the land that was given to them: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron, 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, 46 Me Jarkon, Rakkon, and the area near Joppa.
47 But the people of Dan had trouble taking their land. There were strong enemies there and the people of Dan could not easily defeat them. So the people of Dan went to the northern part of Israel and fought against Laish. [ b ] They defeated Laish and killed the people who lived there. So the people of Dan lived in the town of Laish. They changed the name to Dan because that was the name of the father of their tribe. 48 All these cities and fields around them were given to the tribe of Dan. Each family got its share of the land.
49 So the leaders finished dividing the land and giving it to the different tribes. After they finished, all the Israelites decided to give Joshua son of Nun some land too. This was land that was promised to him. 50 The Lord had commanded that he get this land. So they gave Joshua the town of Timnath Serah [ c ] in the hill country of Ephraim. This was the town that Joshua told them he wanted. So he built the town stronger and lived there.
51 All these lands were given to the different tribes of Israel. Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of each tribe met together at Shiloh to divide the land. They met before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent. So they finished dividing the land.
19 And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2 And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,
3 And Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem,
4 And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,
5 And Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah,
6 And Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:
7 Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:
8 And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
10 And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:
11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;
12 And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,
13 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth out to Remmonmethoar to Neah;
14 And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel:
15 And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.
16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17 And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
18 And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,
19 And Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath,
20 And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez,
21 And Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez;
22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.
23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
25 And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,
26 And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath;
27 And turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand,
28 And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;
29 And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:
30 Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages.
31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32 The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
33 And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:
34 And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.
35 And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,
36 And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,
37 And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor,
38 And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.
39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
40 And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
41 And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh,
42 And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,
43 And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,
44 And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,
45 And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon,
46 And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.
47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:
50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord , at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
19 Then the second lot went to Simeon, to the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Judah. 2 So they had in their inheritance Beersheba or [ a ] Sheba and Moladah, 3 Hazar-shual, Balah, and Ezem, 4 Eltolad, Bethul, and Hormah, 5 Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah, 6 Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities with their villages; 7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan; four cities with their villages; 8 and all the villages which were around these cities as far as Baalath-beer, Ramah of the [ b ] Negev. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families. 9 The inheritance of the sons of Simeon was taken from the portion of the sons of Judah, because the share of the sons of Judah was too large for them; so the sons of Simeon received an inheritance in the midst of [ c ] Judah’s inheritance.
10 Now the third lot came up for the sons of Zebulun according to their families. And the territory of their inheritance was as far as Sarid. 11 Then their border went up to the west and to Maralah, and it reached Dabbesheth and reached to the [ d ] brook that is opposite Jokneam. 12 Then it turned from Sarid to the east toward the sunrise as far as the border of Chisloth-tabor, and it proceeded to Daberath and [ e ] up to Japhia. 13 From there it continued eastward toward the sunrise to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin, and it proceeded to Rimmon [ f ] which stretches to Neah. 14 Then the border circled around it on the north to Hannathon, and [ g ] it ended at the Valley of Iphtahel. 15 Included also were Kattah, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem; twelve cities with their villages. 16 This was the inheritance of the sons of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17 The fourth lot went to Issachar, to the sons of Issachar according to their families. 18 Their territory was to Jezreel and included Chesulloth, ( A ) Shunem, 19 Hapharaim, Shion, and Anaharath, 20 Rabbith, Kishion, and Ebez, 21 Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez. 22 The border reached to ( B ) Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and [ h ] their border ended at the Jordan; sixteen cities with their villages. 23 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Issachar according to their families, the cities with their villages.
24 Now the fifth lot went to the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families. 25 Their territory was Helkath, Hali, Beten, and Achshaph, 26 Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal; and it reached to Carmel on the west and Shihor-libnath. 27 It turned toward the [ i ] east to Beth-dagon and reached Zebulun, and to the Valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth-emek and Neiel; then it proceeded on [ j ] north to ( C ) Cabul, 28 Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Great ( D ) Sidon. 29 The border turned to Ramah and to the fortified city of Tyre; then the border turned to Hosah, and [ k ] it ended at the sea by the region of ( E ) Achzib. 30 Included also were Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob; twenty-two cities with their villages. 31 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32 The sixth lot went to the sons of Naphtali; to the sons of Naphtali according to their families. 33 Their border was from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and [ l ] it ended at the Jordan. 34 Then the border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and proceeded from there to Hukkok; and it reached Zebulun on the south and reached Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan toward the [ m ] east. 35 The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, ( F ) Hammath, Rakkath, and ( G ) Chinnereth, 36 Adamah, Ramah, and Hazor, 37 Kedesh, Edrei, and En-hazor, 38 Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. 39 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali according to their families, the cities with their villages.
40 The seventh lot went to the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families. 41 The territory of their inheritance was Zorah, Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, and Ithlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, and Ekron, 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, and Baalath, 45 Jehud, Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon, 46 Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the territory opposite [ n ] Joppa. 47 The territory of the ( H ) sons of Dan proceeded [ o ] beyond them; for the sons of Dan went up and fought with Leshem and captured it. Then they struck it with the edge of the sword and took possession of it and [ p ] settled in it; and they named [ q ] ( I ) Leshem Dan after the name of their father Dan. 48 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49 When they finished apportioning the land for inheritance by its borders, the sons of Israel gave an inheritance among them to Joshua the son of Nun. 50 In accordance with the [ r ] command of the Lord , they gave him the city for which he asked, ( J ) Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. So he built the city and [ s ] settled in it.
51 ( K ) These are the inheritances which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the sons of Israel apportioned by lot in Shiloh before the Lord at the doorway of the tent of meeting. So they finished dividing the land.
19 The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon according to its clans. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah. ( B ) 2 It included:
Beersheba ( C ) (or Sheba), [ a ] Moladah, ( D ) 3 Hazar Shual, ( E ) Balah, Ezem, ( F ) 4 Eltolad, ( G ) Bethul, Hormah, ( H ) 5 Ziklag, ( I ) Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah, 6 Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen—thirteen towns and their villages;
7 Ain, Rimmon, ( J ) Ether and Ashan ( K ) —four towns and their villages— 8 and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). ( L )
This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans. 9 The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, ( M ) because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah. ( N )
10 The third lot came up for Zebulun ( O ) according to its clans:
The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid. ( P ) 11 Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam. ( Q ) 12 It turned east from Sarid ( R ) toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath ( S ) and up to Japhia. 13 Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher ( T ) and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon ( U ) and turned toward Neah. 14 There the boundary went around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El. ( V ) 15 Included were Kattath, Nahalal, ( W ) Shimron, ( X ) Idalah and Bethlehem. ( Y ) There were twelve towns and their villages.
16 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, ( Z ) according to its clans. ( AA )

There were sixteen towns and their villages.
23 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, ( AI ) according to its clans. ( AJ )
24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher ( AK ) according to its clans. 25 Their territory included:
Helkath, Hali, Beten, Akshaph, ( AL ) 26 Allammelek, Amad and Mishal. ( AM ) On the west the boundary touched Carmel ( AN ) and Shihor Libnath. 27 It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, ( AO ) touched Zebulun ( AP ) and the Valley of Iphtah El, ( AQ ) and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Kabul ( AR ) on the left. 28 It went to Abdon, [ b ] ( AS ) Rehob, ( AT ) Hammon ( AU ) and Kanah, ( AV ) as far as Greater Sidon. ( AW ) 29 The boundary then turned back toward Ramah ( AX ) and went to the fortified city of Tyre, ( AY ) turned toward Hosah and came out at the Mediterranean Sea ( AZ ) in the region of Akzib, ( BA ) 30 Ummah, Aphek ( BB ) and Rehob. ( BC ) There were twenty-two towns and their villages.
31 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, ( BD ) according to its clans.
32 The sixth lot came out for Naphtali according to its clans:
33 Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, ( BE ) passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel ( BF ) to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan. 34 The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. ( BP ) There were nineteen towns and their villages.
39 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, according to its clans. ( BQ )
40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan according to its clans. 41 The territory of their inheritance included:
Zorah, Eshtaol, ( BR ) Ir Shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, ( BS ) Ithlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, ( BT ) Ekron, ( BU ) 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, ( BV ) Baalath, ( BW ) 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, ( BX ) 46 Me Jarkon and Rakkon, with the area facing Joppa. ( BY )
47 (When the territory of the Danites was lost to them, ( BZ ) they went up and attacked Leshem ( CA ) , took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named ( CB ) it Dan after their ancestor.) ( CC )
48 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, ( CD ) according to its clans.
49 When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them, 50 as the Lord had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for—Timnath Serah [ d ] ( CE ) in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there.
51 These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting. And so they finished dividing ( CF ) the land. ( CG )
