- Galatians Chapter 6
6 My friends, if you see that someone among you is doing a wrong thing, you must warn that person. Those of you who have help from God's Spirit should tell that person how to live in a good way. But you must be patient and respect him. Be very careful yourselves, so that you do not also want to do wrong things. 2 When anyone among you has troubles, you must help each other. If you do that, you will be obeying Christ's rule. [ a ] 3 You must not think that you are too important to help other people. If you are not really so important, you are thinking a false thought. 4 Everyone should think carefully about the things that they themselves do. If those things are good, that is a reason to be proud. A person like that does not need to think about whether he is better than anyone else. 5 Each person must live in a way that they know is right for them.
6 Everyone who is learning about God's message from a teacher should help his teacher. The student should share all the good things that he has with his teacher.
7 Nobody can hide the things that he does from God. Do not think a false thought like that! It is like a farmer who plants seeds in his field. The same kind of crops will grow as the seeds which he plants. That will be his harvest. 8 A person may do things only to make himself happy. That person's harvest will be God's punishment and death. Or a person may do the things that God's Spirit wants. That person will receive a harvest from God's Spirit. The harvest will be life with God for ever. 9 We must continue to do things that are good and we should not get tired. If we do not feel weak and stop doing good things, then we will receive a good harvest at the proper time.
10 Because of all that, we must help everyone when we have the chance. Certainly we must do good things to help our friends who believe in Christ, as we do.
11 Now I am writing these last words to you myself. You can see how large the letters are, when I write them with my own hand!
12 Do not agree with those people who want to make you obey the Jewish rules. They say that you must let someone circumcise you. They want other people to think that they are important. They do not want to receive any trouble from others. They are afraid to teach that Christ's death on the cross is enough to save us. 13 Even those men that someone has circumcised do not obey all the Jewish rules. They want to circumcise you only to make themselves seem important. They want to show that they have authority over your bodies. 14 But I do not want to say any great things about myself. The only thing that makes me great is our Lord Jesus Christ's death on the cross. Because of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, it is like I have also died. The things that belong to this world have become dead to me, and I have become dead to them. 15 It does not matter whether anyone has circumcised you or not. What matters is that God has made you a new person.
16 I pray that God will bless everyone who lives by that rule. I pray that God will give them peace in their minds and that he will be kind to them. I pray this for all who belong to God's true people.
17 I want to receive no more trouble from anyone after this. The marks on my body show that I am Jesus' servant.
18 My Christian friends, I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will continue to be very kind to you. I pray that he will help you in your spirits. Amen. This is true!
6 Brothers and sisters, someone in your group might do something wrong. You who are following the Spirit should go to the one who is sinning. Help make that person right again, and do it in a gentle way. But be careful, because you might be tempted to sin too. 2 Help each other with your troubles. When you do this, you are obeying the law of Christ. 3 If you think you are too important to do this, you are only fooling yourself. 4 Don’t compare yourself with others. Just look at your own work to see if you have done anything to be proud of. 5 You must each accept the responsibilities that are yours.
6 Whoever is being taught God’s word should share the good things they have with the one who is teaching them.
7 If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant. 8 If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit, your harvest from the Spirit will be eternal life. 9 We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. 10 When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.
11 This is my own handwriting. You can see how big the letters are. 12 Those men who are trying to force you to be circumcised are only doing it so that their people will accept them. They are afraid they will be persecuted if they follow only the cross [ a ] of Christ. 13 They are circumcised, but they don’t obey the law themselves. They want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about what they did to you.
14 I hope I will never boast about things like that. The cross of our Lord Jesus Christ is my only reason for boasting. Through Jesus’ death on the cross the world is dead [ b ] to me, and I am dead to the world. 15 It doesn’t matter if anyone is circumcised or not. The only thing that matters is this new life we have from God. [ c ] 16 Peace and mercy to those who follow this rule—to all God’s people. [ d ]
17 So don’t give me any more trouble. I have scars on my body that show [ e ] I belong to Jesus.
18 My brothers and sisters, I pray that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ will be with your spirits. Amen.
6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
6 ( A ) Brothers and sisters , even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are ( B ) spiritual are to ( C ) restore such a person ( D ) in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. 2 ( E ) Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill ( F ) the law of Christ. 3 For ( G ) if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But each one must ( H ) examine his own work, and then he will have reason for ( I ) boasting, but [ a ] to himself alone, and not [ b ] to another. 5 For ( J ) each one will bear his own load.
6 ( K ) The one who is taught ( L ) the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him . 7 ( M ) Do not be deceived, ( N ) God is not mocked; for ( O ) whatever a person sows, this he will also reap. 8 ( P ) For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap ( Q ) destruction from the flesh, but ( R ) the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9 ( S ) Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we ( T ) do not become weary. 10 So then, [ c ] ( U ) while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the ( V ) household of ( W ) the faith.
11 See with what large letters I have written to you ( X ) with my own hand! 12 All who want ( Y ) to make a good showing in the flesh try to ( Z ) compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they ( AA ) will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 For those who [ d ] are circumcised do not even ( AB ) keep [ e ] the Law themselves, but they want to have you circumcised so that they may ( AC ) boast in your flesh. 14 But ( AD ) [ f ] far be it from me to boast, ( AE ) except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, ( AF ) through [ g ] which the world has been crucified to me, and ( AG ) I to the world. 15 For ( AH ) neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a ( AI ) new [ h ] creation. 16 And all who will follow this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the ( AJ ) Israel of God.
17 From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the [ i ] ( AK ) marks of Jesus.
18 ( AL ) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be ( AM ) with your spirit, ( AN ) brothers and sisters . Amen.
6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit ( A ) should restore ( B ) that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. ( C ) 3 If anyone thinks they are something ( D ) when they are not, they deceive themselves. ( E ) 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, ( F ) without comparing themselves to someone else, ( G ) 5 for each one should carry their own load. ( H ) 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. ( I )
7 Do not be deceived: ( J ) God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. ( K ) 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, ( L ) from the flesh will reap destruction; ( M ) whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. ( N ) 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, ( O ) for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ( P ) 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good ( Q ) to all people, especially to those who belong to the family ( R ) of believers.
11 See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand! ( S )
12 Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh ( T ) are trying to compel you to be circumcised. ( U ) The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted ( V ) for the cross of Christ. 13 Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, ( W ) yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh. ( X ) 14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, ( Y ) through which [ a ] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. ( Z ) 15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; ( AA ) what counts is the new creation. ( AB ) 16 Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to [ b ] the Israel of God.
17 From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks ( AC ) of Jesus.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ ( AD ) be with your spirit, ( AE ) brothers and sisters. Amen.
